OXPO (the Oxford-Sciences Po Research Group in the Social Sciences) is a meeting point for social science scholars in Oxford and at Sciences Po, who work on the comparative analysis of the evolution of political systems and societies, in Europe and beyond. It coordinates various comparative research projects that contribute to this goal and offers various opportunities to develop new ones. Within the framework of OXPO, Sciences Po offers every year two visiting professorships to established post holders in the sociology, international relations and political science.
The invitation is for one month as best suits the applicant to be taken up during the academic year (between September and July). Sciences Po will provide €3,300 to €4,100 for the month for expenses associated with the visit (including travel and accommodation). Accommodation will not be provided but housing services at Sciences Po can assist the successful applicant in finding something suitable.
Visiting Professors will be hosted by one of the research centres at Sciences Po (http://www.sciences-po.fr/recherche/en/dispositif/centres.htm) and will be asked to present their research in one of Sciences Po's seminar series and will also submit, in the months after their visit, one working paper relating to the work they did at Sciences Po. The working paper will be posted on the OXPO website.
The position is open to established post holders in DPIR and Sociology. Applicants should ensure that they have applied for research leave from their Department before making an application.
