Nuffield/Sciences Po Visiting Scholar from the Centre d'études européenne. He will be based in the Department of Politics and International Relations.
Nicolas has been an Associate Research Professor at Sciences Po since 2004. He was Vincent Wright Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre of the European University Institute in Florence. His fields of research focus on the analysis of changes in structures of political competition in France and Europe. He pays particular interest to laboratory experiments in the social sciences and comparative repeated surveys. Nicolas is also the convenor of the Electoral Analysis Group (GAEL) of the French Political Science Association and acts as National coordinator for the European Social Survey and the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems. He is a member of the Planning committee of the CSES.

Nicolas is a Research Fellow at the Centre for History at Sciences Po. His research interests include the history of the State, economic history and the study of social movements in the 19th and 20th centuries. He works on the relationship between citizenship, redistribution and state-building in France and Europe.
