About OXPO
The Oxford-Sciences Po Research Group in the Social Sciences (OXPO) is a meeting point for social sciences scholars in Oxford and at Sciences Po, who work on the comparative analysis of the evolution of the transformation of political systems and societies, in Europe and beyond. It coordinates various comparative research projects that contribute toward this goal and offers various opportunities for developing new ones.
The Department of Politics and International Relations, the Department of Sociology, the colleges at the University of Oxford, and the Maison Française d'Oxford on the one hand, along with the laboratories of sociology and political science of the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques (FNSP) and the teachers of the Ecole Doctorale of Sciences Po on the other, together cover practically all aspects of the transformation of political systems and societies, and therefore make possible the formation of assorted research teams on any given related question. Special emphasis is placed on the reciprocal knowledge of French and British situations, but without restricting comparisons between them.
OXPO is made up of a series of research projects initiated by the researchers of one or other of the partner institutes. It can also facilitate other types of exchange between the partner institutes, notably in teaching. OXPO replaces the European Research Group that existed from 2005 to 2008 and included CNRS as a partner. The current OXPO agreement runs from January 2009 for four years.
